Founder:
KKAS-LP FM (Island Rhythm) Radio was founded in 2014 by Ken Dalle, Jr. under the Non-profit organization “Life, Incorporation”. Ken was born and raised in American Samoa and has a long history and love in the radio industry and continues to live with that same passion under the KKAS-LP 94.5FM call sign. Ken started his roots in the radio industry at the AM station WVUV between 1985-1986. Ken enlisted into the U.S. NAVY where he served for more than 20 years specializing in Radio Communications and Information Systems Technology (IT). After retiring from the US Navy in 2002, Ken moved back with his family to American Samoa where he would volunteer and help build the KNWJ 104.7FM Showers of Blessings Christian radio station as the station manager and engineering consultant until 2015. In tandem with managing and growing the KNWJ station, Ken began his career in the American Samoa Government with the Department of Legal Affairs as an IT Manager overlooking the department network and computer systems. After serving ASG for more than 20 years, Ken retired in 2022. Since retiring, Ken has gone back to his roots and continued his passion with radio and dedicated his full attention to managing and operating the KKAS-LP (Island Rhythm 94.5FM) Radio station.
Mission:
To provide, equip and promote learning skills to enhance the knowledge and lifestyle of individuals. To prepare individuals and build their confidence in facing new challenges and to pursue goals and dreams. To bring self-awareness to personal skills and talents that may be applicable to their surroundings as well as their sustainability. Empower and inspire individuals and our community by sharing diverse music, information and perspectives through its Community Radio Station KKAS-LP (Low Power FM). KKAS-LP is an independent noncommercial, education media organization that engages with the local community to provide diverse music, news, public affairs and cultural content that connects, informs and inspires. In addition, we want to Honor our Veterans with our service. We want to serve our Veteran Community in disbursing information in association with VA News and Benefits.
